Eileen Fisher is a national fashion label that focuses on organic and sustainable clothing, with emphasis on natural designs. When they set out to update their store in the Mall at Chestnut Hill, they hired Construction Coordinators, Inc. (CCI) to overhaul both the interior and exterior of the store.
Because it was located in a mall, alongside several other similar stores, it was important to make the space stand out. The design was intended to create a natural, welcoming aesthetic. The renovations began with the exterior, where CCI used floor-to-ceiling glass to invite shoppers into the space. Moreover, an oversized sliding door was constructed of maple slats to provide a uniquely open way to close the store. For the interior, everything from the floral arrangements on the display tables to the river rocks surrounding display pedestals was placed to suggest a natural setting. Energy efficient lighting and reclaimed wood flooring complete the look.
Throughout the store, architectural elements call to mind the dynamic interactions between culture, design, nature and beauty that are at the heart of the Eileen Fisher label. Everything about the space is designed and constructed to draw the shopper in, and to make the store stand out in the crowded retail area of the mall.
