Toto Boston Gallery

The Toto Boston Gallery displays luxurious plumbing fixtures and accessories in a variety of settings. As a resource for the architectural and design community in Boston, the Gallery provides on opportunity for a hands-on educational experience with the range of Toto products.

The Gallery is located in an old industrial building on the edge of Boston’s celebrated North End neighborhood. Unfortunately, the building—while beautiful—was not fit to be a showroom for the high-tech Toto products without renovations: the space was cramped, the walls and beams showed evidence of decades of water damage, and the floor was scuffed and dirty. During construction, CCI prioritized preserving the historic nature of the building to provide a striking contrast with Toto’s modern products, while updating the space enough to be serviceable. They exposed many brick walls and wood beams, and restored them to pristine condition. CCI replaced much of the floor with beautiful hardwood flooring. To improve the flow of the space, the existing staircases were restored and moved to new locations.

The end result was an elegant fusion of an old building in one of Boston’s most historic districts and a modern showroom with high-tech accessories on display.
