Roche Bobois Boston
The Ritz-Carlton brand name has long been associated with luxury and elegance, so when Construction Coordinators, Inc. was hired to construct a Roche Bobois furniture showroom in Boston’s Ritz-Carlton hotel, implementing Leslie Saul + Associates design and maintaining that trademark elegance was the number one priority, both during the construction process and afterwards.
Constructing work inside hotels often brings with it constricting schedules and noise restrictions, because the guest’s experience is paramount. However, that was doubly true with the construction of Roche Bobois. The space was completely untouched, devoid of electrical systems, plumbing, and (most importantly) insulation. With only a thin concrete ceiling separating a hotel room and the work space, avoiding disturbances was difficult, but CCI worked with the hotel to ensure that no construction occurred while the room above the work space was in use. CCI performed a complete renovation on the empty space, installing all of the necessary mechanical, fire safety and HVAC systems, as well as creating a stunning interior design reminiscent of Paris or Rome.
Now, Roche Bobois is not just a store inside the Ritz-Carlton: its elegant shopping experience and beautiful décor has transformed it into an integral part of the Ritz-Carlton hotel’s appeal.
