Renaissance Golf Clubhouse
The Renaissance Golf Course Clubhouse is elegant in every sense of the word. From the massive grand ball room to the wood-paneled bar, from the fully appointed set of bedrooms available for guests to the stunning views of the countryside, the Renaissance seems built to take your breath away.
Yet the construction process wasn’t as smooth as the end-product would lead you to believe. The owners of the golf course, Southworth Development, contacted Construction Coordinator’s, Inc. (CCI) to build the clubhouse, and construction soon began. Almost immediately, however, the project ground to a halt: constructing the clubhouse required several permits from the city of Haverhill, and each took time to be approved and reapproved by the different city commissions. CCI paused construction for several months, and agreed that the process was necessary to ensure the preservation of the area’s natural beauty. In fact, the delay actually ended up helping the project, as it gave CCI the opportunity to create a plan for the air conditioning that would cost significantly less than the normal method. Once the permits were acquired, construction started back up quickly and CCI—given the opportunity to plan extensively during the break—finished the project ahead of schedule.
The Renaissance Clubhouse is perhaps the most beautiful building CCI has ever built, and as the saying goes, it certainly was not built in a day. Nonetheless, CCI turned the delays into advantages, and managed to create a clubhouse so spectacular that Golf Inc. Magazine nominated it for its prestigious Clubhouse of the Year Award.
