The Striar JCC
The Striar JCC, located in Stoughton, faced a problem that many clubs would be happy to have: they were too popular. Their exercise equipment and spin classes couldn’t keep up with the growing demand, so Construction Coordinators, Inc. (CCI) was hired for its expertise in construction projects for non-profit organizations. The Striar JCC needed both an expanded fitness center and renovations to their auditorium. CCI drew up a tight budget and schedule, planning to finish the project by the end of summer.
As construction began, however, CCI faced a scheduling problem: worldwide shortages caused a delay in key material deliveries, threatening the completion of the fitness center in time for member renewals in the fall. Fortunately, CCI quickly came up with a solution. They proposed that the Striar JCC temporarily relocate their fitness center to the auditorium, which was not in use. Then, once the fitness center was completed, they would begin work on the auditorium. In the end, not only did CCI’s solution avoid interrupting the availability of exercise facilities during the four weeks of construction, but it also accelerated their already tight schedule because they could focus on each section individually.
The expanded Striar JCC now offers more room for yoga, spinning, weights, cardio and aerobics in an attractively designed and comfortable space.
