Simon and Sons

Simon and Sons, a men’s and boy’s clothing retailer, knows tradition better than anybody: after all, they’ve been a family-owned business for three generations. So when they needed to move to a new store, finding a way to preserve a traditional feel in a more modern environment was a top priority. To that end, they hired Construction Coordinators, Inc. (CCI) to transform a closed-down party store into an elegant retail store for high-end clothing.

The job was not easy. The party store had a dated layout and appearance inside and out, so CCI had to gut most of the interior and rebuild it. Moreover, they completely rewired and redesigned the lighting to serve a clothing store rather than a party store: softer lights, more spaced out fixtures, and highlighting the displays. Most drastically, CCI tore down the exterior and rebuilt it. The party store’s façade had been a faux-thatched roof: not the best look for a sophisticated clothing store. CCI replaced the exterior with a more standard storefront to match the atmosphere of the store.

The result was a beautiful store that evoked the traditional and time-honored roots of Simon and Sons—a far cry from the closed-down store that had inhabited the space before.
