Pava
Tess Enright and Carlos Pava showcase their signature style in Tess and Carlos luxury boutiques in Harvard Square, Newton Centre and on Newbury Street. The stylish duo was seeking to expand their brand by opening Pava, a European-style café adjacent to their Newton Centre stores, and hired Bergmeyer Associated and Construction Coordinators, Inc. (CCI) to convert the vacant area into a modern and elegant bistro.
Unfortunately, the bistro’s floor-level was slightly below that of the adjacent boutique. To bring both floors to the same height, CCI built a second floor above the bistro’s original floor. However, over a weekend, the owner decided to remove both floors, old and new, to create more ceiling space in the basement, where the kitchen was located and where a private dining room was envisioned. Needless to say, arriving on Monday morning to find the floor missing was a bit of a surprise. But CCI managed to take the unexpected development in stride and finish the café on time.
The Tess and Carlos boutiques, joined by Pava, created an haute couture and high cuisine experience unmatched by anything in the Boston area, or even perhaps this side of the Atlantic.
