Belmont Hill School
The Belmont Hill School is a private boys’ high school in Belmont. Recognizing that learning through the arts is an integral part of a high school education, the school set out to turn their nearly century-old black box theater into a modern performing center. Construction Coordinators, Inc. (CCI) was hired for their expertise working on academic spaces.
CCI outfitted the theater with comfortable seating, a central control booth, a new sound system, and state of the art lighting. The underside of the roof structure in the theater had been damaged over the years, so CCI set out to repair it. However, the height of the ceiling made repairs difficult, so CCI used the final part of the installation as a solution: a metal mesh catwalk that stretched across the entire space. Although originally intended as a way for the theater crew to reach and adjust lights on the ceiling, the catwalk was also a great platform for CCI to work on the ceiling. Despite that the work crew had to carefully manage the weight they brought out on the catwalk, CCI successfully repaired the roof, in addition to renovations performed on the space.
The Belmont Hill School has always been at the forefront of education, but with a new theater, they are able to take their dedication to excellence into the realm of the performing arts as well.
